What are Craniosacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation?
Craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation may sound invasive or even scary – yet they are the most gentle form of therapy.
What is Craniosacral Therapy?
By using pressure on the bones of the head, spinal column, and sacrum (located in the lower back) patients are able to release tension and reduce pain. The name stems from the cranium, the focus on the head and sacrum, and the triangular bone at the bottom of your spine.
During a session, stress and tension melt away. You may even notice that you get a better night’s sleep and have the ability to manage stress. It is suitable for almost anyone. From infants to the elderly as it is non-invasive and highly effective

What is Visceral Manipulation?
Targets the internal body, aiding immobilized organs that may lose their ability to function due to pregnancy, surgery, injury, or even poor posture. Through the placement of soft manual forces, you can find relief from pain.
Our internal organs are not floating, they are packed within connective tissues such as the fascia and ligaments that help support internal organs. Change in the fascial system in one area can alter the alignment of the body leading to restrictions, or wear and tear in joints.
Inspira Physical Therapy & Pilates provides specialized one-on-one care utilizing holistic techniques of Craniosacral Therapy & Visceral Manipulation.
At Inspira Physical Therapy, we can help you find alignment within your body by releasing tensions found within your body during one-on-one sessions.

Visceral Manipulation was developed by world-renowned French osteopath and physical therapist Jean-Pierre Barral at the Barral Institute in the mid-80s. He has helped over 100,000 patients heal, as a new form of manual therapy.
